Cooking Classes Begin for Jr. High


For 1 week each trimester Mr. Fosters 6th - 8th grade PE/Health classes participate in a cooking unit. The purpose of the units is to:

  • Teach students how to properly use tools in the kitchen.
  • Educate the students on what a balanced nutrition diet looks like. 
  • Make students aware of possible career paths in the culinary field. 

In the last trimester, students are involved in a cooking completion (similar to the TV show 'Chopped') where they prepare a nutritious healthy meal and have their dishes judged by Dimmick staff members.
